September 30 - October 5
Castafari is proud to announce the 1st Annual 2019 Cape Cod Octunafest. The 9th Annual Hyannis Tunafest and Battle Of The Bay are joining forces to create a northeast bluefin tuna showdown right in the heart of the fall tuna season! The 2019 Octunafest will be hosted at Hyannis Marina and Trader Ed's Restaurant September 30th - October 5th. This event will offer 2 separate weigh stations, one in Plymouth and one in Hyannis. This will allow fishermen to access fishing grounds from east of Gloucester to south Cape Cod. There will also be 2 separate fishing divisions in this event, a conventional tackle and a spinning tackle division. Octunafest will offer cash/tackle prizes for both divisions. See our Prizes page for more info. Fishermen will be allowed to choose and declare 2 out of 5 potential fishing days with 3 non fish days. Tournament boats will be allowed to fish during these non fish days. This week long format helps to remove any and all risk related to weather and fishery regulations. See our Rules page for more detailed info.
The 2019 Octunafest Registration Party and Awards Ceremony will be held under the main tournament tent in Hyannis. The tournament captains meeting will be broadcasted live on the event's Facebook Page for any crew members unable to attend the registration party on Sunday September 30th. Tournament participants will be able to text in questions in real time and questions will be answered in the captains meeting. There will be a looping awards ceremony bus shuttle for all tournament participants needing transportation between Plymouth and Hyannis on Saturday October 5th. This shuttle will operate between the hours of 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Entrants can sign up for this shuttle when registering for the event online. Please see the Schedule page for more scheduling info.
We're very excited to welcome back Contender Boats as our title sponsor, as well as all of our other supporting sponsors who help make this event happen. We will be offering an EARLY REGISTRATION INCENTIVE to all teams entering on or before August 1st...don't wait to register! There is no reason whatsoever to wait to register if you are interested in fishing this event. The dates have been strategically chosen to remove any uncertainty with quota or with weather.
